MEDINA NEEDS A NEW GLASS EYE
Little Melana and Medlin here with joy from the little gift of fruit from LAMb. |
And then Medina and her mother told us...
THE REST OF THE STORY...
A few years ago when we met the family, it was obvious that Medina had an eye that was no longer functional. It was distorted and caused here great grief - both because other children made fun of her and because there was pain in the eye. We posted here story and a sponsor came forward and we were able to get her to a good doctor in Bishkek, get the eye removed and a glass eye made for her. She was small and the doctor said, this will be good for several years, but as she grows it will need to be replaced.
The replacement day is NOW. She is once again having difficulty with the eye. It does not fit good and moves around in her eye socket, causing both pain and infection due to the watering, etc. We were asked to help once again and of course we could not say NO to this request.
So yesterday, we were off to the same doctor in Bishkek and he said - TODAY LET'S REPLACE THIS. I WILL HAVE ONE MADE FOR HER RIGHT NOW. IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
The call came - he will start after we deliver $300. What to do? No sponsor, most funds identified for specific areas. YES, WE WILL DO THE EYE TODAY.....and then let our sponsors know the need. We gave Costa the $300 and sent him off to Bishkek to give the funds to the clinic to continue the work.
Medina traveled home later in the day with our team member Zukrah, her mother Inura and a new eye was in place. She said on the way home. This is wonderful, I never thought it would happen as it is so much money.
Just $300, but a million for the one getting the eye. If you want to backfill this need, it would be a blessing.
