IF THIS WERE FOR CHILDREN - WOULD YOU JUMP TO HELP? HOW ABOUT FORGOTTEN SENIORS?

DREAM FOR A BETTER LIFE
FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN FORGOTTEN....
THE
SENIORS IN
MAUN, BOTSWANA

Every day they feed seniors - going house to house - to home where seniors cannot do for themselves.  They have been forgotten, abandoned and left to die.  Yet, Pastor Beauty Bogwasi cannot remain still.  She fights fearlessly for their needs.  Let's recap a few things:

1.  She secured a piece of land to build a Senior Center. DONE
  • feed seniors - they will bring them to the center daily
  • provide health care for seniors
  • offer interactive fellowship time for seniors
  • provide for some residential needs
  • have a resourse room to help seniors with needs

2.  A group helped her to "claim" the land by building a fence completely around the land.  DONE

3.  She had an architect draw up the building plans.  DONE
  • kitchen
  • washrooms
  • water system and plumbing
  • shaded central courtyard
  • fellowship and dining hall
  • potential residential rooms
  • storage rooms
  • offices
  • and more...

LAMb entered the picture at about this time.  Bryan and Jenny Richardson then went to Botswana and visited the project.  They started developed an implementation  plan to build the center for the seniors.

The first step coordinated by the Richardsons was to build the water tower on the property - DONE!  (See the pictures)

Today, Bryan, Lynn, Pastor Beauty and the architect, Pierre went to the building site and here is the result!!

The next step will be to put in the sewage system and then the foundations for the buildings and enough of the first building to begin serving seniors.  This is where we are - we now need to collect funds for this next step.  Are you interested in helping?

Collecting for:  foundation blocks, septic system, footings, up to plinth height  - 30,000 pula...  $3750 CAD

Fellowship rooms - office -  washrooms - 150,000 pula - $18,800 CAD

Kitchens and storage - 100,000 pula - $12,500 CAD

THE AFRICAN VILLAGE THAT CALLED US TO TEACH - INSPIRE - CULTIVATE AND DISCIPLE

REMOTE AFRICAN VILLAGE
IN BOTSWANA

AROUND 700 PEOPLE
CHILDREN SENT AWAY
FAMILIES BROKEN
HOPE WANES

Each time we answer yes to a call, it is with prayer and question.  TODAY WE HEAD TO BOTSWANA.

Yes, Lord we will go, but what is it you want us to say, to do and to share?  You called us to teach - (Ephesians 4: 12-16) and you have opened the hearts of many to listen and even desire to hear what they can do to carry out your command in James 1:27.  Yet we are just your simple servants - and pushing on in age.  Why us Lord?  Why us?

Then the floodgates of many different reminders of His calling:  "IF NOT YOU, THEN WHO, IF NOT NOW THEN WHEN?"

So we go forth to spend the next month with this village in the lower end of the Delta in northern Botswana and to the city of Maun.  To work with a Trauma Team in "training", to share with village moms who really want to keep their children home and not send them away to schools, to share with village leaders stories, hope and the words from His walk on this earth.  The stories of the Old Testament, the hope in Jesus and that they are precious in His sight.

We will be joined with our LAMb partner and team member - who will also be a ROCK of teaching and encouragement.  We will serve the local Maun team coordinating the service in the villaga - Bushways Foundation and work with the Pastor of the local church to serve seniors. Then soon we will be joined by a group from the USA - Samaritans Feet - to bring hundreds of brand new shoes and socks to give the message physically - you are loved.  We will wash feet, pray and pass blessings on to these amazing sons and daughters.  Yes - we go!  We answer the call.

Into the village where God has called us.  To do the work He has called us to do - and to leave what HE wants us to leave.  To Him be the Glory.

The Childen!

We serve them to serve their own village.

Unfortunately she ate the family dog and then proceeded to take a nap on their bed.

Photos compliments of our LAMb Team - the Richardsons

You can join us as well - are you ready to spend six months to a year in this village - teaching English, parenting skills, discipleship and more?  If so, contact us.

WHERE IT ALL STARTED = UKRAINE, 2003

UKRAINE 2003
This is where LAMb started global ministry.

Anniversary of 13 years - global ministry
 this month.

It is hard to believe, but we are celebrating 13 years of LAMb Ministry this month.  Our very first international ministry training was done in Krivoy Rog, Ukraine in 2003.  From Ukraine, we were "sent" by a pastor to Kazakhstan and then on to Kyrgyzstan to serve in churches he had started.

In Kyrgyzstan, we saw our fit and have been working there in depth ever since.  We added other former post-Soviet countries, such as Russia, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan.

Working to strengthen families, bring children out of orphanages, help graduating orphans, training workers, helping governments change paradigms and laws, implement training programs in the churches, universities and NGO's that helps children know they are precious and that their Heavenly Father loves them as a son or daugher - this has been our calling.

We launched out on the command from Ephesians 4:12-16.  Our commitment has been to equip and activate - through training and consultation - using best practice and evidence-based information and skills to care for children and strengthen families.

Our years have seen countless lives changed, thousands of persons trained, hundreds of persons trained as trainers and system changing to embrace that children need safety, permanency and well-being.  We have worked with Bible colleges, churches, pastors, church workers and government staff and have written numerous training tools to share.

Through the years, we have poured sustainable interventions into Japan, Cambodia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Brazil, Thailand, India, South Africa, Botswana, Indonesia, Nepal, Armenia, Canada, USA, Bangladesh - 21 countries in all.

We have cried, laughed and prayed through the night for countless reasons.  And we have seen miracles in many unexpected ways.  We have had donors come and go.  Resources available and resources lacking, with miracles waiting -  Walking out the door of our home to head overseas - with only $500 in our pocket for the month we were to be away - to receive a call from our church as we were ready to close the door - deciding to answer to have the question asked of us, "We just got a donation for you for $5,000, what would you like for us to do with this, as we know you are leaving today."  Yes, Lord!

God has been faithful - we have tried hard.  Never feeling we do enough, we are continually seeking His guidance for steps as we make our plans.

We walk in a calling that most do not understand and is very difficult to explain - both of us in our 70's as most of our friends are finding retirement to be something far different from our journey.  Yet, Obedient, committed and passionate about serving Him to bring children into families and make perhaps a little difference in our world.  We know we cannot save the world, but we can help to change the world for one child at a time.  We continue with determination.

Thank you for believing in us as we continue to carry out the journey as we have been called.

EAGLES NEST JEREMIAH 29:11 LIFE SKILLS - JUST IN TIME FOR SOME

JUST IMAGINE

No one to teach you about life...
Each day just being one of 200...
Lining up every day for food...
No momma or papa to tuck you in...
and
SUDDENLY
you "graduate" from the orphanage...
Where do you go?
What do you do?

Certainly you think -

I Wish I Had Been a Kid a Lot Longer

You can make a difference with our youth in Kyrgyzstan who have experienced this and worse.

We need your help as they get older and older - Let's build a strong Life Skill program together. We have the following strategies active and need you to join as one of our partners - prayer, financial support, encouragement
  • Jeremiah House - residential for older boys
  • Dayspring Home - residential for younger and older girls
  • Step Apartment - a place to transition from Jeremiah or Dayspring and "practice" living interdependently
  • Life Skill Classes - over 250 youth each week receive these classes
  • Eagles Nest Life Skill Farm - a living Life Skill teaching home
    • Gardening
    • Animal care in the future
    • Learning to repair things
    • Preserving foods through canning and freezing
    • Scouting program where you can earn badges (modeled after Scouts in North America
    • Weekend and summer retreat place for youth and staff
Thank you so much - and if you decide to financially support - you can go to the buttons on the side of this post.

Jeremiah 29:11 is for you too!

SHE IS THE TOP OF HER CLASS - ONE AMAZING LITTLE GIRL

DAYSPRING
SUCCESS STORY
LITTLE GENIA

She is such an amazing little girl - well shall I say emerging adolescent,  maybe not so young any more.  When she came to Dayspring - from a very hard place, she entered a new era of growth and development.

Let us brag on her....
  • Picks up English quickly
  • Loves people
  • Has a kind and gentle spirit (most of the time)
  • Loves animals
  • Love nurturing and attention
  • Is a hug lover too
  • Is an incredible helper
  • One of the smartest students in her class
  • Has been elevated to a high level math class
BUT WE HAVE ONE PROBLEM - we are looking for an adoptive home for Genia - a family that will love her and be there for her in those moments of doubt, sadness, loneliness and loss.  A family who will understand her journey and be willing to walk the distance with her.  We need a national family, as she has a brother that she is connected with who lives in an orphanage.  We do not want to see them separated by countries.

Please pray for this family.  We know they are there - we need your prayers.

Thank you

THEY CAN EAT TOGETHER AS A FAMILY - THANKS TO OUR DONOR

DINNER IS READY
FAMILY
COME TO THE TABLE

This likely sound familiar to you all - however for Jeremiah House it is a NEW call.  Up until now, they have not had a dining room or a table and chairs. They have eaten in the kitchen in shifts - with just a little counter that would seat two.

But that has changed!  With the help of an amazing donor we now have:

  • A brand new dining room - built off the side of the kitchen.
  • A brand new table and chairs that will easily seat 10 to 12 for dinner.

YES, "dinner is on the table - ya'll come to eat now together!"  It is family time!

This is something we all take for granted - sitting together talking about our day and enjoying family time.  We have prayed for this day - dreamed of having this room built and for the family to be able to be together like this.  Now they can do homework here, play games, sit and discuss life's challenges and life's blessings - pray together and in general - JUST BE A FAMILY.

THANK YOU ALL - We dream of curtains, a lovely picture for the wall, and a little update in the kitchen with the wall having been broken out for the new dining room.  Would you consider being a little helper for our Jeremiah boys?

The LAMb Team

So beautiful

Check out the new floor and rug!

NAME OF THE GAME? SUSTAINABILITY

CELEBRATING
13 YEARS
FOR
LAMb International

2003 started our international journey for LAMb International - starting with Ukraine - conducting training in orphanages, churches and with other organizations.  We offered best practice child welfare training, leadership training and discipleship.   Little did we know what the beginning of our journey would lead to.  HERE IS JUST A GLIMPSE ...

Here it is 2016 - 13 years later and LAMb has:
  • Served 26 countries sharing and training
  • Loved and nurtured100's of children who have been exploited, orphaned and left vulnerable
  • Registered ILDC in Ukraine over 8 years ago.
    • Partnered with IHS, Father's House and Christian Broadcasting Network to register the training center in Ukraine, which is now the "go to" place for child welfare training for the country, has an amazing team of trainers who are traveling across the country to ensure children and families are strengthened, that workers are equipped to do the family-based work to keep families together.
  • Registered ILDC in Kyrgyzstan over 8 years ago.
  • Opened Dayspring in Kyrgyzstan.
    • A pilot project to demonstrate children who would otherwise have gone to an orphanage CAN be reunited, adopted and permanency can be found for them.
    • Have reunited 17 youth back with their families
  • Opened Jeremiah 29:11 program in Kyrgyzstan.
    • Developing a program to help youth who are graduating from the orphanages and have no place to go and want our help

    • This is part of their 5-year degree for Social Work

    • Bangladesh - 5 trainers working across the country
    • India - 8 trainers

    • Risk to Resiliency  - 10 sessions
  • Implemented a 5-day training program for medical workers in Kazakhstan who are working with vulnerable and exploited children - bringing a social behavioral model into their present medical model
