$5,000 SUCCESS STORY

TRANSLATED INTO RUSSIAN AND MAKING AN IMPACT!

THE BOOK COST $5,000 TO HAVE TRANSLATED AND GET 1,000 COPIES PUBLISHED FOR DISTRIBUTION

THIS STORY IS WORTH EVERY CENT SPENT...

Our team has just completed a three day training event in Kiev.  The trainer we have is from Switzerland and she taught on attachment.  During the event - which had 24 participants, one of the participants shared her story. The story relates how the book Wounded Children Healing Homes (written by our team member Jayne Schooler and her team) has made a major impact on a family...

HERE IS A REPORT FROM OUR STAFF IN KIEV...

FROM UKRAINE:
We also have one training participant who said that she is a therapist and adopted mother. She told us a story today how Wounded Children Healing Homes helped her to save her family.  She had big troubles with her adopted daughter whom she adopted 6 years ago. She was preparing for adoption disruption and sent her daughter to government shelter for 3 months (the daughter didn’t want to stay with her). Then she got from us Wounded Children Healing Homes book. When she read it she realized how much she had done wrong. She took her daughter back and began to do things differently. And she was able to resolve major problems and her daughter lives with her now and there will be no disruption.

THANK YOU SPONSORS FOR MAKING THIS POSSIBLE..THE SUCCESS IS YOURS!

DAYSPRING UPDATE FROM OUR ON THE GROUND TEAM

We are so pleased with our team in Kyrgyzstan.  They work tirelessly in helping those without hope an dignity.  Today we received this email from our Country Director and Residential Manager.  See is this doesn't just warm your heart.  Dayspring is a home for five little girls living there and one little girl we have in rehabilitation for a time.  Six little girls.  Our goal is to reunite the girls with their family where possible...and here is a request from our team in how this might happen for one little girl named Anya...

ANYA'S MOTHER HAS BEEN WORKING TO GET HER CHILDREN BACK - ANYA FROM DAYSPRING AND HER BROTHERS FROM ANOTHER FACILITY....  here our staff are wondering how they can help...they are talking about Anya's mother..

HERE IS A PORTION OF THE EMAIL....

So today talking to her , and listening to her I understood one thing, she doesn't know what people want from her, and she doesn't know what "clean" means. I know that she grew up without parents herself, so may be she really doesn't know how.

Actually today I was looking at the house from a different view, I think it is quite possible for all the family to live there, one room could be for the boys, she has just four beds there now, but space can be saved by putting double beds and then a table could fit there, there is one small kind of a room, but right now it is full of boxes and loads of clothes that no one wears, if this room will be cleaned it is possible to put a bed there, and wall can be mabe of a small wardrobe, then it coud be Ania's space. I mean it is possible to do something there.

So today we talked, ..... she was just scared ...... Then we decided that Costa and Madlen will take her on Friday and they will go to the govermental office, to those people who placed them in this house, to see what is possible to do with the documents. And I had this idea, what if I, Zuhra and Madlen, and may be some ladies from the church who want to help will come to her place, help her clean everything, show her what clean is, and then we will visit her ones a week to see if she can learn and keep it. Cause she is a hard working woman.

What do ypu think of it?

This might not seem like much to most, but for this mother and for this effort - who knows, maybe we can get her home and help her maintain a healthy and safe place for her children.  And this IS THE GOAL OF DAYSPRING - PERMANENCY FOR CHILDREN.  ONE CHILD AT A TIME.

REMEMBERING SLAVIK AND OTHERS

SLAVIK'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

As you might remember, Slavik was sold just a short while ago - he was sent to Kazakhastan to work in the fields.  All our efforts to find him failed, but as it goes when people join together and pray - our Heavenly Father answered the prayers and brought him back.

This week, thanks to our sponsor for Slavik and for our AWESOME STAFF IN KYRGYZSTAN - JOHN AND JULIE WRIGHT - Slavik had a great birthday party.  Here is the email message from John:

Great day with  Slavic.

For his birthday , he wanted his friends to come to church with him.  So we picked up he and 9 of his friends and they all came to church with us .  After church they came back to the apartment and watched "free willy" and ate kettle corn  and had pop.

After the movie they had home made lasagna , Cesar salad and garlic bread..  then a birthday cake.  Then they wanted to watch another movie  " The emperors new groove "    but first they all got a small party gift .. a pair of gloves.  As well as the gloves, Slavic got a new sweater and and a fancy pen set /

We also had balloons and a pump.. the long skinny kind that you make things out of .. they had a great time with that ... then during the second movie, they all got an ice-cream bar.

It was a fun day , Slavic had a great time . Please thank his sponsor.

Now, this is just one child, yet there are many children waiting to be remembered - to be  honored and to be blessed.  You might say, how can I help?

We are sitting in the airport in Taiwan - waiting for our flight on to North America.  We left Indonesia about 6 hours ago..and have about 20 more hours of travel to get to our destination.  This is TIME..SITTING AND THINKING.

Our thoughts are racing.  We have just spend four intense days with other leaders from across 48 nations - talking about the orphan situation in our world.  Each person involved in our discussions represents a great team behind them, back in their home countries that have picked up the Orphan Challenge.  Our team identified five very important focus needs:

CAPACITY BUILDING
PERMANENCE FOR CHILDREN
PREVENTION
CHURH MOBILIZATION
GLOBAL NETWORK

153 MILLON ORPHANS ARE WAITING FOR A HOME

This relates to a nation movement stirring for A WORLD WITHOUT ORPHANS.  Already there are different countries that have jumped into action - UKRAINE WITHOUT ORPHANS (the catalyst to the movement); RUSSIA WITHOUT ORPHANS, BELARUS WITHOUT ORPHANS -  on and on.

As our work team that came to Indonesia return to their countries; Africa (many different countries), India, Israel, USA, Canada, Kyrgyzstan, Indonesia, Australia, Macau, Russia, Ukraine and others we expect to see a strong mobilization of others as well.
