NATIONAL ADOPTION IN KYRGYZSTAN - NEW BEGINNINGS!

TRAINING IN
KYRGYZSTAN

Pastor David and Jayne conducted training in Kyrgyzstan in several
different venues - SOS Villages and Dayspring.
SOS Villages was a follow-up training to examine if the
skills were being used and what the Transfer of Learning looked like
SUCCESS!!!!

Then training with Dayspring staff and local NGO and Social Service
leaders...again

SUCCESS!!!!

Ruby conducted training in Bishkek with Renewal Church.
The first event was with adoptive and prospective adoptive
parents fromt he church.  The training was to help the parents understand
the importance of TELLING THEIR ADOPTIVE CHILD THE TRUTH.

Then on April 13, Ruby conducted the second training at the Renewal Church in Bishkek, Kyrgystan
on the topic of
Becoming a Trauma Informed Adoptive Parent

SUCCESS!!!

LOTS OF QUESTIONS AND LOTS OF INTEREST IN ADOPTION.
Understanding the sequence and time line of
of trauma when left unattended.

Igor (the little 13 year old boy) and how there are seven elements that are
critical for the caregiver to understand and become skilled in -  if we are to help him.

Participants - demonstrating how using LIFE SCRIPTS can make a difference
in the intervention with different behaviours of children.

The cycle of Trust now explained with how children can regulate
or become totally frustrated and unregulated when their needs are dismissed.

Working with scenarios of children - groups were to decide what the trauma was and how
the trauma seemed to impact development.

But today meant a lot more as well...helping a widow who could not pay her winter heat bill,  meeting with a family that has some serious medical problems and making a plan to address them.  Each day has challenges and promises.  We pray for Kyrgyzstan to become a beacon of light to the world.  Please join us in prayer.
