IT ALL FEELS SO DARK

As we all watch and pray for what is happening in Ukraine, we feel in our hearts the darkness that is surrounding the world and especially what is deeply impacting all our hundreds of Ukrainian friends both in Ukraine in in other countries.  The sadness permeates our inner being beyond what words can express.

Here with our LAMb Team, we continue to work in the calling of LAMb, and experience questions, what do we do, what can we do, how can we focus on anything but Ukraine and what is happening there?  We have sent funds, called friends, prayed and prayed, talked via whatsapp to those in Ukraine and kept in contact with many - hearing their  hearts, their fears and just knowing we are WEAK to respond with the right words that might ease their fears and concerns.

It is their MOTHERLAND - a land they call home - where their families have proudly toiled to develop the land, the nation and their family legacy for future generations.  What does this now mean?  Oh Lord - be merciful and bring Ukraine to it's fullest glory!  Amen.

ONE STEP FORWARD - TEN STEPS BACK

BEING WISE
IS NOT
BEING FEARFUL

"The reality of missions and the challenges we face with COVID-19."

You all know we seldom make pleas for help - but this is a different time of ministry.
We have had to make some hard decisions over the last several weeks and months.  Most all due to the COVID-19 and the impact it is having on all of us.  Other decisions due to reduced funding and support from those we have been blessed by in the past.  We need you to pray - not for us, but for our partners, for the children we serve and for those who work tirelessly as servants in the different ministry activities we have across the globe.

The present world situation has produced blocks, barriers, challenges and burdens that we cannot carry alone.  Personally, we have lost all our paid training work over the next two months - funds that not only help us, but help the work of LAMb.

#1:  Kyrgyzstan:  suffering over the closings, distancing and reduced funds available from our sponsors.  We presently have only one group helping with the needs and it does not cover all of the urgent and important needs.  NEED FROM YOU?  Please pray that God will touch the hearts of someone or some group to step in and offer support - short term support or long term support.

THE REQUEST is not to increase our data numbers, it is to serve persons with NAMES!  This is not about numbers, it is about people crying out for help.

#2:  India:  Alex Sam (India) is struggling and needs help - he is raising foster children, building an adoption program in India and is desperate for help right now.  He needs to purchase food and supplies. Can you help us help him and the work he is doing?

#3:  Khwai, Botswana:  The village is so vulnerable and they need a boost of supplies for the children we serve there - it is important that persons not be going in and out of the village - due to their lack of resources and vulnerability.  Yes, washing hands helps, but what if you live in a village that you do not have running water  - and need to walk over to a community pumping center to gather water?  Are you able to consider helping us get extra funds into them to purchase soaps, store up some food, send in our on the ground team to teach them how to care for themselves in case of an outbreak?

#4:  Maun, Botswana - Senior Center:  Pastor Beauty has not asked us for anything - but the needs are great - she feeds marginalized seniors daily at the new center LAMb helped build and helps support.  We need to be there and boost up her food supplies and help her pay volunteer transportation to and from the center.

PLEASE BE A HERO FOR US.  WE DO NEED YOU URGENTLY TO HELP

On this blog - there are options here for you - they are easy to donate from Canada and from the US.

ETHIOPIA IN FOCUS FOR YOU

LET'S NOT DENY
CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE

Training is a Catalyst to Change

"We need to create a platform to discuss this with key leaders, police, government, NGO's, churches and more."
... Counselor with a major NGO in Addis Abba

"This is so difficult within our culture - there is so much secrecy - I must work to help children find safety and healing and work differently with the mothers and children we work with."
....worker with a Theological Seminary in Addis Ababa.

We have just completed our time in Kenya and Ethiopia - with three major training events.  Now back in Addis Ababa and heading home tomorrow.

1.  In Nairobi, Kenya we worked with 20 key children's workers from Christian Broadcasting Network, different Orphan's Promise projects and other NGO workers. The training was in Trauma-Informed Care - three intense days - and out of this training, we have 17 potential new trainers.

2.  In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, we had Adoptive families who were from a number of different organizations - these families attended training on The Impact of Trauma on Attachment and How to Tell The Truth to Your Adopted Child.

3.  In Sendafa, Ethiopia, we completed an intensive three days with 30 NGO leaders representing 16 different NGO's and 1 Orphan's Promise partner from Shire.  This training was to cover three different modules of the Child Sexual Abuse Series developed by the Institute for Human Services:  Module 1:  Overview of Child Sexual Abuse; Module 2:  Healthy Sexual Behaviors of Youth and Those Which Cause Concern; Module 3:  Helping Parents Work With Youth Who Have Been Sexually Abused.

In addition, we are working with the Child Development Training and Research Center/ Intergenerational Spiritual Transformation Ministry.

We are honored to follow the calling of Ephesians 4:12 - 16.

"....12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work...."
