UPDATE ON SCHEDULE

YESTERDAY - met with Natasha and did our planning, shopped for food and saw the increase of food prices - dreadful for our families here. We also met with John and Christa for more planning. John is the President of Mercy Foundation. Some very exciting things will be happening there and with the new International University of Central Asia.

TODAY - heading to "Jessica's family" soon. Will take food and lots of love to them. Then out to the Kemin Senior Home. It is National Woman's Day today. So we will be blessing the women with something special - maybe cakes and goodies. Then preparation for training tomorrow in Bishkek. Ruby is training on Attachment, Separation Issues with a group from SOS Villages and our own staff here from Tokmok.

AND - our first wave of the team arrives - John, Julie, Bekah and Emma arrive early in the morning, so we will do dinner with them tomorrow night - if they can stay awake after their LONG journey!

All for now - keep tuned.

WE ARE SETTLED IN KYRGYZSTAN

WAHOO - THE BLOGS ARE WORKING TOO! LYNN INSTALLED WIRELESS HERE AND IT IS ALMOST LIKE LIVING IN CANADA OR THE US.

We arrived about two hours ago, have unpacked 5 suitcases and are now getting settled for the day. Later this afternoon we start our planning with Natasha - flip chart on the wall and away we go.

Keep checking for the RADICAL ROAD REPORT!

SOMOLIANS ARE STILL IN MOSCOW AIRPORT

WHEN WILL THIS BE FIXED?

This is such a sad situtation here. There are five Somolians still here at the airport - WAITING. The United Nations has been able to find countries for several. Three (including Aihan) went to Sweden, two are going to Norway and three will remain - waiting and waiting. Those who when back to Somolia - some are dead - they were forced into the fighting and did not survive. They have word that a couple of others are still living.

The man from India - Habashaw - is noW in his 10th year here - and we cannot call this living here - it is existing here. He has no hope. He sometimes gets food, sometimes does not. The United Nations is working on his situation too..but no country has yet accepted him. He is hoping for Canada or the United States. He waits. They told him he just needed to wait. 10 years he has waited. How can this happen?

IF YOU ARE TRAVELING THROUGH MOSCOW - THEY ARE UPSTAIRS IN TERMINAL F. Habashaw is outside the First Class Lounge and the Somolians are on the other end (a different stair way) close to the upstairs restaurant. Any help you can give would be appreciated. A group from Sweden gave each of the Somolians a computer - giving them something to do - at least they have a chance to watch videos people leave them etc. Imagine - years of nothing! Please help.

We have several teams coming through - please bring a little cash, a little food, some socks, maybe a few personal items, like toothpaste, soap, videos, hygiene products, be prepared to help them - it will be so worth this for you AND FOR THEM.

This is a time to be truly RADICAL AND SERVE.

THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP.

SITTING IN MOSCOW AIRPORT

WE JUST ARRIVED THE MOSCOW AIRPORT AND ARE SITTING IN THE AIRPORT

We met up with Natasha at JFK - without a hitch. She was with Ruby in Ohio - Ruby came home and repacked and away we went yesterday. Our overnight flight to Mosow was uneventful.

We are just getting settled here and I am off to see if the Somalians are still here. We pray not. The Moscow airport has changed dramatically and they have opened up two new terminals. There is a lot more space to "hide" in. We will report what we find.

Tomorrow - Monday our team members from Norwood hit the road/air for the start of their journey to join us in Kyrgyzstan. We will be together with them on Wednesday in Tokmok. Then on the 20th the final members of our "on the ground" team for Tokmok arrive. Work begins tomorrow and continues with passion for the next several months.

Follow the blogs and watch the action on the RADICAL ROAD to helping and serving.

UPDATE ON KATYA - SHE IS SETTLING

KATYA IS SETTLING IN ATLANTA, GEORGIA.

Thanks to so many who have helped, Katya is now settling in at her home with a super family (WHO ARE RADICAL TO SERVE!). She is adjusting slowly and says things seem very difficult at times - making decisions and trying to decide what next to do with her life. Yet, we can all understand after all she has been through. We know this is a journey of patience and time. Together we can make a difference.

She is living with a wonderful family who have committed to helping her adjust and have been gracious to commit to her support. However, many of you have asked what you can do - and we now have a request for your help.

Katya could use a computer to complete her school work, and keep her in the electronic era as she learns, adjusts and grows. This is an expensive one time cost and our serving family has asked for help. We have donated and would like to know if any of you - our supporters would like to donate a little toward this item. If you can help get Katya a computer - please let us know. We are looking for donations of any amount.

JUST HIT THE BUTTON ABOVE AND LET US KNOW IT IS FOR KATYA'S NEEDS - COMPUTER OR OTHERWISE.
