TEAM DISAPPEARS
NO ONE KNOWS WHERE
FOUND VISITING THE TOWER ON THE SILK ROAD
Well, the story is not as exciting as the headline, but they certainly did disappear for a time. We had "THOUGHT" we had arranged for us to be picked up and then the team - and we would go together to the Burana Tower - as we waited for our shoes to arrive - you know those being held HOSTAGE BY Customs in Bishkek. Well, no ride came for us - all phone lines went down this morning and we had NO why no one was picking us up at the appointed time.
Mystery was solved when the phones came back on. Our driver (who does not speak English) picked up the team and waited for us to arrive to where the team was staying - when we did not arrive within 15 minutes - they headed off to the destination on the schedule - Burana Tower.
We sent a CHASE car when we found out - Sergae and Anya took off and caught them in the action - sightseeing! Anya took over and gave them the history of the tower, the story of Apostle Thomas in Kyrgyzstan and just did a fine job caring for the team.
We grabbed a second CHASE car and caught up with the missing team...having a great time and seemingly no worse for wear. So who says language is needed - just point them in a direction and away they go! No money, no interpreter, not a clue of what to do. God is good.
