SCHOOLERS COMMITMENT TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE

TRAINING - TRAINING - TRAINING
DID WE SAY TRAINING?

WE HAVE AN AMAZING SCHEDULE FOR THEIR TIME IN KYRGYZSTAN

David and Jayne have been diligently working to strengthen their own skills and knowledge in the area of Trauma.  Jayne has authored a book on the topic and both of them have not only been training across the United States on the topic, they have been studying and building their own skills - most recently having attended a comprehensive training offered by Karen Purvis (an expert on the topic) in Texas.

Beginning September 4th, David and Jayne will be following a rigorous schedule we set for them (hope they speak to us when they return) in Kyrgyzstan.

  • SOS - Children's Villages - 9 days of training.  They will do three different sessions.  Session 1 with adolescent workers; Session 2 with house mothers and aides; and Session 3 with the psychologists.
  • Karakul Orphanage - 3 days of training.  This small orphanage - which is 6 hours away from our home base in Kyrgyzstan will be the focus of this training for their child and youth care workers.
  • Tokmok - 2 days of training all our staff and workers in the area of Trauma.
So what is this training?

Children who have suffered trauma in their lives are often left with serious challenges from the impact of the trauma. In addition, parents and/or caregivers sometimes have little to no understanding how to help the child work through these difficult challenges.  Our new Trauma series, will address this - will offer:
UNDERSTANDING
KNOWLEDGE
SKILLS

and most importantly HOPE!

LAMb Team is awesome - committed and fully focused on -  (MAD) Making a Difference in all they do and say.  Thank you supporters who helped support this work in Kyrgyzstan that David and Jayne will be doing in September.  Their travel expenses were fully covered as are the costs for the training to be done there!  YOU ARE AN AWESOME SUPPORT TEAM!!!!

Committed to working together for
A WORLD WITHOUT ORPHANS

I am so thrilled to hear this! I am going to a week long training with Karyn Purvis myself in October. She has helped me with my son's issues. Good for Tokmok to be so pprctive, I can tell the difference in my daughter who was from there!
